March in the Lamar River Valley

Yellowstone National Park's Lamar River--March 20, 2019

The calendar says that it's spring. But it still looks like deep, beautiful winter along the Lamar River

This bison is finding some grass along the road. But the snow is still very deep within most of the Lamar Valley.

Moose were holding in their usual winter haunts along Soda Butte Creek. We saw four of them.

All of this snow will soon become clear, clean cutthroat trout water. May will be here before we know it.
